Molly Dobson
"When it comes to Avalon's mission, I have a strong conviction that Ann Arbor should be an inclusive community and that everyone deserves a safe place to call home," said Molly Dobson. Molly, together with her late husband Bill Dobson, has been a supporter of Avalon for 20 years.
Molly recounts that Bill believed that when a cause really moved you - you should lead. That is exactly what he did in the early 1990's when he assumed a leadership role in the fundraising efforts to create more affordable housing in Ann Arbor. That movement is what helped ignite Avalon Housing.
"Bill was an Ann Arbor native and I have lived here since my early teens," explained Molly. "I love this community and like Bill, I will do all I can as a leader and donor to maintain its trail blazing reputation."
"I believe in giving locally- in enhancing our community and making it a place I'm proud to call home. A place where everyone is welcome. We're talking about a 'cutting edge' community. That's our goal, isn't it?" asks Molly.
Molly is still very involved in the Ann Arbor community, helping wherever and whenever she can. She is a true inspiration and a shining example of living a life of service.

Gary Boren
Gary Boren wants to see his money 'do some good in the world'. That's why he has been an avid supporter of Avalon Housing for nearly 20 years.
"For me, it's more than just supporting a good cause. I want to know who is running the organization, so I can be assured they have integrity. By knowing the leaders I can see the good things they are doing and that they are making a significant difference in our community."
Gary started giving small amounts and increased them over the years as his resources allowed him to.
"I always knew I wanted to give back to the community and I felt lucky to have it to give. I knew about these great organizations and I felt they could do some good with my donations. It also makes me feel good to know I am making a difference in causes I care about."
Gary's support makes a huge difference at Avalon, allowing us to provide much needed services to the most vulnerable in our community. We can't thank Gary enough for his support both financially and of our mission to end homelessness!
