Tenant Application Process

Avalon has a large demand and very low turnover, so right now Avalon only opens our waitlist once a year. We notify area shelters and human service agencies, put an ad in the paper, and post the application on our website. Applications can be dropped off or mailed in during the open waitlist period. We randomly select a pool from all applications received and let everyone else know they can apply again in a year.

Rent Payments

Rent is due the first day of each month. A $15.00 late fee will be added if rent is not received by the 10th of the month.

In cases of hardship, a payment plan may be arranged through our property management team.

Rent can be mailed to, or dropped off at, the office. There is an afterhour's rent drop box located outside the office door.

Maintenance Repairs

All maintenance and repair requests should be called into the office at 734-663-5858. If you have an after hour's emergency, please page the on-call number: 734-817-4753.

Please only use the pager number for a real emergency, including:

  • Fire (call 911 first)
  • Gas leak (also call the gas company)
  • Persistent gas odor
  • No heat
  • No water
  • No hot water
  • No electricity (except for general outage)
  • Flooding/frozen pipes
  • Toilet overflowing
  • Toilet not working
  • Clogged sink with standing water
  • Sewer back-up
  • Smoke Alarms
  • Unsecured unit (broken window, lock, door)
  • Lock-out
  • Excessive noise, loud parties
  • Disruptive guests
  • Police at the property
Housing Support Services

Housing Support Services, a program of Catholic Social Services, provides individualized and flexible support services that are available to all Avalon tenants. You can utilize services for on-going assistance or for help during a crisis at any time of the day or night. You can contact services staff at the Arbordale Community Center or Ashley office for non-emergency help. There is a service staff member on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
